Logan Barker- GCWC 2024 FOBSE recipient

Logan Barker was born and raised in Big Sky Montana. She loves everything to do with the outdoors, especially exploring new mountains and rivers. Logan is a very academically driven student who graduated as salutatorian and the top ranked girl in the LPHS class of 2024. Logan enjoyed involving herself during her time in high school; she was Student Council Secretary, the Interact Service Club's Treasurer, and a member of the National Honors Society. Additionally, Logan spent the majority of her time volunteering at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center where she participated in High School Musicals and helped facilitate front of house management during the WMPAC's fall and winter seasons. In the fall Logan will continue her love for the performing arts by studying Theatre at the University of Vermont. |

SCHOLARSHIP
The Gallatin Canyon Women's Club Scholarship Fund was established in 1977 to commemorate the Club's fiftieth anniversary. Money for the fund comes from member donations and fund raising within the club.
GCWC is pleased to now offer our annual Scholarship through the Friends of Big Sky Education (FOBSE), a 501(c)(3) organization. This change was approved at our 2015 Annual Meeting. Members have three ways to donate (all amounts contributed directly to FOBSE are tax-deductible) -
1. Send a check directly to FOBSE at PO Box 160633, Big Sky, MT 59716 (please indicate GCWC on the memo line).
2. Include a second check payable to FOBSE with your registration form.
3. Indicate an additional amount with your GCWC registration dues (Not tax deductible).
At the 2023 Annual Meeting, the membership voted to approve changes in the wording of the description of the GCWC scholarship, which is part of the Friends of Big Sky Education’s scholarship process. The wording is now:
The Gallatin Canyon Women's Club Scholarship candidate will be female. She should be academically strong or have shown considerable growth over her high school career. Any candidate should have involvement in extracurricular activities, athletics, volunteering, family responsibilities, paid work or educational activities outside of the classroom. The candidate and her family should be active members of the Big Sky Community. Financial need may be considered.
